Over 70 MDY businesspeople receive second COVID loans

About 75 businesspersons in Mandalay have received the COVID-19 loans for the second time, according to the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI).
Mandalay MRCCI shared the information to issue the second COVID-19 loans on 26 and 27 October.
“These second COVID-19 loans were issued to many enterprises. The loans provided this time contain the livestock enterprises,” said an official from MRCCI.
The second COVID-19 loans were provided by the Committee for Remedial Works on Economic Impacts of COVID-19. The committee will issue the loans notification letter of the COVID-19 on 2 November to those who are left to receive it.
The committee provided K21.22 billion loans for the second time to a total of 1,200 enterprises from across the country. The loans were issued mainly to businesses engaged in agriculture, livestock and fisheries, trade promotion and supply chains, food processing as well as to overseas employment agencies and vocational training centres, according to the committee.
Loans of K100 billion have been issued to over 3,300 businesses since April 2020, with an interest rate of one per cent and the repayment period of one year. —Aye Maung (Translated by Hay Mar)
