  • Rakhine State is rich in natural resources. It has many rivers, lakes, ponds and is connected to the ocean.
The Rakhine State Government is emphasizing on investment and trade in order to increase production in agricultural products as well as manufacturing and to increase job opportunities for locals by not only increasing local trade but also external trade with foreign countries.
Today, in the state, we have witnessed trade infrastructures including Sittway Port, Kaladan Multi-Model Project, transport route from Sittway to Mizoram, India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway, Punnagyun industrial zone, salt water tiger prawn, agriculture and livestock zones, Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone and Deep Sea Port Project, trade zones in towns, hotel sector, investment by foreign companies and marble extraction etc.
Meanwhile, the numbers of young adults who are becoming entrepreneurs to make their own fortune by putting up their own businesses are growing.
The Rakhine State Government conducted a forum last Sunday in Sittway to discuss topics on starting a business and its requirements in Rakhine.
The event is an opportunity for the various government departments to present their programs for new small and medium enterprises.
The event came after the Rakhine State Government noticed that producing young entrepreneurs in the State will bring regional benefits including job and investment opportunities through the utilization of infrastructures and an abundant array of natural resources in the most effective way.
The Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu also pledged to provide ardent support to the SMEs while the Union Government has been rendering much assistance for the emergence of a number of young Myanmar entrepreneurs.
With an increasing number of young entrepreneurs nowadays, this event is timely as it aimed at generating opportunities for youths and businesses and developing SMEs and could give them the knowledge to become pioneers in the business sector in Rakhine State.
Industry updates were also great topics as these will give the young entrepreneurs a glimpse of what they are getting into.
Hopefully, our young entrepreneurs would gain knowledge on how to be an effective entrepreneur and employer in the state.
We thank young entrepreneurs for their involvement in the socio-economic development of the state and hoped that the talks would being brighter prospects for the future of Rakhine State.
Let us do right by our young entrepreneurs, and let them take the state forward.
The future of Rakhine State economy lies in their hands.
