SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends reception to mark 75th anniversary of founding Russia-Myanmar diplomatic ties

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the reception to mark the 75th anniversary of founding the Russia-Myanmar diplomatic ties at Hotel Hilton in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday evening.
The ceremony was opened with Russian and Myanmar national anthems. Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar Dr Nikolay Listopadov delivered an opening speech.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Senior General said that Myanmar values the persistent support of Russia to Myanmar between them and in the international arena during the period when the friendly relations have been maintained since 18 February 1948.
Symbols of the friendship between Myanmar and Russia proved Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi of Shan State in 1961, the Yangon Institute of Technology in 1961, Yangon Inya Lake Hotel in 1962 and Kyetmauktaung Dam in 1967 as part of reflecting the sustainable relations between the two countries.
From 1980-1990 to date, new-generation Myanmar youths were sent to Russia to make further studies in order to have higher knowledge and techniques as well as to enhance the defence capability of Myanmar. In 2021 when the State Administration Council stated the assumption of State responsibilities, remarkable progress could be seen in Myanmar-Russia relations.
The Vice-Senior General said that he took pride in the highest relations between the two countries thanks to the farsightedness and endeavours of both leaders. He expressed his firm belief that the potential for future cooperation between the two countries can be seen to multiply the good results for both countries. Myanmar arranges the opening of Myanmar consulates-general in St Petersburg and Novosibirsk of Russia soon to higher friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Vice-Senior General praised for Myanmar and Russian governments and the peoples for successfully walking together along the 75 years of friendly relations and made best wishes for the peoples of both countries to have perpetuity of friendship, further prosperity of the Russian Federation and Russian people and physical and mental well-being of both leaders and friends.
The Vice-Senior General and the Russian Federation cut the diamond jubilee cake to mark the diplomatic ties between Russia and Myanmar.
The Vice-Senior General and the Russian Ambassador enjoyed the dancing entertainment of the Russian dancing troupe and presented the flower basket to them. Later, they had dinner together with the attendees. — MNA
