State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win receives Mr Mongkol Visitstump, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win received Ambassador Mr Mongkol Visitstump of Thailand to Myanmar at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on further promotion of friendly relations between Myanmar and Thailand, exchange of visits between the governments and armed forces of both countries, peace and stability in border areas, eradication of illegal trade and illegal labourers, development of the tourism industry, trade and investment measures, matters related to the Dawei Deep Seaport Project, improvement of border region transport facilities between Myanmar and Thailand and ASEAN affairs.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and the Thai Ambassador exchanged commemorative gifts. Also present at the meeting together with the Vice-Senior General were Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Myo Htut, Permanent Secretary U Chan Aye and officials. The Thai Ambassador to Myanmar was accompanied by First Secretary Ms Suchanaree Taranatham. — MNA
