Second Taolu World Cup 2018 opens in Yangon

The opening ceremony for the 2nd Taolu World Cup 2018 was held at the Myanmar Sports Hotel in Yangon yesterday evening.
The Director-General of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, U Myo Hlaing, and Executive Vice President of the International Wushu Federation, Mr. Anthony Goh, delivered the opening speeches at the ceremony. U Myo Hlaing spoke on behalf of the Union Minister for Health and Sports, Dr. Myint Htwe.
A total of 143 athletes and coaches from 21 nations will participate in the World Cup Championship.
There will be 11 men’s events and 11 women’s events, including Taijiquan, Taijijian, Jianshu,Qiangshu, Nandao, and Nangun.
Nyein Chan Ko Ko, Thein Than Oo, Sandi Oo, and Aye Thitsar Myint will represent for Myanmar at the championship. Nyein Chan Ko Ko will compete in the Taijiquan and Taijijian events. Thein Than Oo will compete in the Nandao and Nangun events, Sandi Oo in the Jianshu and Qiangshu events, and Aye Thitsar Myint in the Nandao and Nangun events, respectively.
Myanmar will hold the 2nd Taolu World Cup in the Thuwunna National Indoors Stadium-1 on 17 and 18 November.—A Kay Lin (Translated by Kyaw Zin Lin)
