Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the Tatmadaw Heavy Industry factory in Htonebo yesterday afternoon and inspected the production of vehicle parts, assembly of vehicles, and manufacturing of engines in the production lines of the Diesel Engine Manufacturing Plant.
Next the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met with factory personnel and said the former Ministry of Industry 2 factory in Htonebo previously produced Mazada Jeeps, B-600 and T-2000s but had stopped manufacturing for quite some time. It was transferred to the Tatmadaw in 2016 and the production of vehicles and engine parts were restarted. Now it had produced the 100th vehicles that is the first own design vehicle and the factory personnel were being honored and rewarded with cash prizes, said the Senior General.
Afterwards Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party went to an airfield inside the ancient city of Thayekhittaya (Sri Ksetra) in Pyay Town to meet with departmental officials and suggested on continuing the maintenance of the airfield according to the news release of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
