Shwedagon Pagoda set to unveil innovative digital directory

cutting-edge software for the digital directory.

The Shwedagon Pagoda board of trustees said arrangements are underway to launch the Pagoda Digital Directory that features the history of Shwedagon, maps, stupas, detailed facts about pagodas and Myanmar artworks.
The board collects the data and creates software for the digital directory.
U Boe Thin, a member of the pagoda board of trustees said, “We are arranging to provide the facts related to the pagoda: maps, history, significant stupas, details of small pagodas and close-up photos and Myanmar artworks such as wood-carving and blacksmithing under the different categories of the Pagoda Digital Directory. We collect the data and create software.”
The touch screen digital directories will be placed at the pavilions of four sides of pagoda platforms.
The digital directories will be initially placed at the Shwedagon Pagoda, the Shwesandaw Pagoda (Pyay), the Shwemawdaw Pagoda (Bago), the Myathalun Pagoda (Magway), Maha Muni Buddha Image (Mandalay), the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, the Uppatasanti Pagoda, the Shwezigon Pagoda, Ananda Pagoda, and the Shitthaung Temple in MraukU township. — TTHL/KTZH
