Traffic squads clamp down on bad drivers


Authorities in Mandalay City have recently been cracking down on traffic and parking violations as part of a concerted campaign to reduce gridlock and improve road safety.
A team comprising officers from the Mandalay City Development Committee, the Directorate of Road Transport and police booked five vehicle owners for illegal parking on 20 July.
The same day, another team towed three other illegally parked vehicles in downtown Mandalay.
Police and Revenue Department staff also booked five drivers for driving the wrong way on 83rd, 29th and 30th streets in Chanayethazan Township.–Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
