Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint received State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan Mr. Manabu Sakai at the Ministry of Information’s office yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, the opening of a company jointly formed by Japan’s NHK and Myanmar’s Shwe Than Lwin Media on 26 June, the possibilities of cooperation between Myanma Radio and Television and Japan’s broadcasting media, organisation setup and the works conducted by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and NHK, the broadcasting and other interesting programmes from Japan, and the possibility of continuing the ongoing work of a translation machine, jointly conducted by the Ministry of Information and Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, were discussed.
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun and other officials.
