Nay Pyi Taw, 12 Nov — Mdm Naraporn Chan-o-cha, wife of the Thai Prime Minister, Mdm Ban Soon-taek, wife of the UN Secretary-General, Mdm Nguyen Thanh Huong, wife of the ASEAN Secretary-General, and party accompanied by Deputy Minister for Culture Daw Sanda Khin and Daw Lin Lin Tin, wife of Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin visited Bagan ancient cultural region on Wednesday morning.
They viewed round Buddhist arts in Bagan era at 10 booths of Bagan Archaeological Museum.
They paid homage to Ananda Pagoda built by King Kyansit in 1091 AD. Deputy Minister Daw Sanda Khin hosted a luncheon to them at the Shwenandaw Nanmyint Tower.
The guests viewed mural paintings displayed at the tower, ancient pagodas and stupas and scenic beauty in Bagan. They also paid homage to Gubyaukgyi Pagoda in Myingapa Village.
