The Working Committee’s second-day meeting on ensuring the seamless flow of trade and goods and the businessmen in Yangon Region held to discuss yesterday morning at the UMFCCI building in Yangon. The meeting aimed to address the information needs and challenges facing local businesses and trade associations in industrial zones. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister for Commerce U Nyunt Aung, in his capacity as the Chair of the working committee, Member of the Yangon Region Administration Council Col Win Tint, the Permanent Secretary for Commerce and officials, Deputy Chair of the UMFCCI (Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry), officials from the private banks and industries in Yangon Region, representatives and business persons from the foreign shipping lines. The meeting focused on current challenges, difficulties in maritime trade and banking, wage issues, problems related to inspection of export refrigerators and security issues.
Officials from the UMFCCI and its associates presented difficulties in trading, banking, shipping lines, and kerosene import. The Deputy Minister, Col Win Tint and the department officials coordinated the meeting. —MNA
