MoNREC to accelerate environmental conservation in Magway Region

Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation met Magway Region Administration Council Chairman and discussed the 2021 monsoon tree-planting process and conservation of the toddy palm tree in the Magway Region on 21 May.
Then, the Union Minister inspected the production of A-1 stoves being operated by Myanmar Myay Industry in Minbu Township, cultivation of more than 40,000 seedlings for 2021 monsoon in Shwetapin Nursery, 100 acres of mountain plantation implemented in 2019 and 2020 out of Sin Khaung- Zee Ai forest reserve and preparation for 100-acre plantation target in the 2021 monsoon.
The Union Minister also inspected 30 acres of firewood plantations out of Tebokan forest reserve in Salin township, 30 acres of firewood plantations in 2019 and 30 acres for the 2021 monsoon.
These plantations will provide firewood for 1,800 households of three villages. — MNA
