A workshop will be held together with the rubber factories clusters to negotiate manufacturing of the value-added products in the rubber sector in Mon State.
The workshop will take place at Mawlamyine Yamanya hotel on 27 June 2021.
At the workshop, the National Enlightenment Institute (NEI) and PUM Netherlands Senior Experts will explain the production of the value-added rubber technology procedure, gather the stakeholders interested in the production of value-added rubber products and discuss the potential production of value-added rubber products based on the local demand.
Mawlamyine commodity depot and NEI are working together on seeking the market for Mon state local products, supporting the technical assistance and conducting market research.
NEI has attempted to seek technical assistance by connecting PUM Netherlands Senior Experts Organization, one of the leading businesses, since May 2021 for the development of the rubber sector.
The organization is a Dutch-based organization in The Hague that provides intellectual property advice and support free technical assistance in 35 countries for the long-term sustainability of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Currently, a mutual agreement has been reached already between NEI and PUM Netherlands Senior Experts Organization to receive technical assistance to manufacture the value-added products in the rubber sector.
The workshop can be attended by the rubber entrepreneurs in Mon State, rubber farmland owners, rubber factory owners, rubber buyers, other rubber related businessmen and value-added rubber producers who are interested in value-added rubber production.
Farmers began planting rubber in Mon state in 1988. Currently, there are over 2,400 acres of rubber plantations in Mon State, according to the 2020 official statistics of Mon State Agriculture Department. — NN/GNLM
