Two dead, three arrested, three others injured during police raid in Botahtaung Township

The police arrested two men and one woman together with the explosives, and one man and one woman died in jumping from the apartment building and another three men were injured in Botahtaung Township on 10 August.
Acting on tip-off, the police raided the apartment located in No 6 Ward of Botahtaung Township.
They arrested two men including Thiha Kaung Sett and one woman together with 16 assorted homemade bombs and explosives.
During the raid, four men and one woman left in the room jumped from the apartment building to escape from the police raid. Of them, one man and one woman died on the spot, and three men had injuries. They were taken to the Tatamadaw hospital (1000-bed) for medical treatment.
With regard to the death of suspects, inquests were filed in line with the police procedure, and further investigation is being conducted over the arrestees and related persons to be taken action under the law.—MNA
