Officials arrange free transportation for 195 returnees from Laos

Returnees from Laos are systematically transported to their respective regions and states.

A total of 195 returnees from Laos, who have tested negative for COVID-19, came back home through the Wampong Port, Tachilek, Shan State (East) on 16 September.
Officials arranged free transportation for all the returnees by vehicle to reach their respective regions and states.
The returnees were extradited from Laos on 11 September.
With the supervision of the Prevention, Control and Treatment work Committee on COVID-19 in Tachilek District, the returnees were diagnosed by RDT Rapid Test Kit for the first time.
On the third day of quarantine at Wamlone Center, nasal and palate samples of the returnees were taken and sent to Taunggyi for the second diagnosis.
According to the test results, the COVID-19 virus was detected in 64 repatriated people.
Therefore, officials undertook the second medical examination and a total of 195 people: 118 males and 77 females tested negative for COVID-19.
Next, Tachilek Tactical Operations Commander (Base) Colonel Min Min Tun, Chairman of the Scrutiny and Repatriation Committee on Expatriate Myanmar Migrant Workers in Tachilek, Chairman of the District Administration Body U Myint Naing and members and officials distributed food to the returnees and provided necessary assistance and free transportation to reach their respective places. —Yar Say (IPRD)/GNLM
