AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers: Myanmar beat China Taipei 1-0

Myanmar U-23 men’s national football team beat China Taipei 1-0 in the AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers at Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan yesterday.
The victory of this match gave Myanmar hope to win the tourney but they will have to compete against Viet Nam.
As Myanmar and Viet Nam beat China Taipei 1-0, the winner of the clash will win the tournament and the losing team will have to try to get into the top four.
Myanmar team is lined up with key players: Soe Moe Kyaw, Lwin Moe Aung, Htet Phyo Wai, and Win Naing Tun.
China Taipei team also played with the toughest roster in the qualifiers.
As the China Taipei team have lost to Viet Nam, they tried to get points from the Myanmar team and played against each other.
At the beginning of the match, the Myanmar team was able to put more pressure, but after 10 minutes, China Taipei relied on the counter attack, and 20 minutes later, the match was reciprocated.
In the first half, the Myanmar team had two chances to score, but Win Naing Tun’s first shot was sidelined and the second shot hit the post.
In the second half, both teams changed players and attacked harder.
The Myanmar team did not get many chances to score in the second half but got the single or winning goal in the 79th minute.
The only winning goal for the Myanmar team was scored by substitute player Kaung Myat Thu. Myanmar will take on Viet Nam in the last match of the group on 2 November.
Myanmar and Viet Nam had three points each, and China Taipei, who had lost both games, has no more chances for the next stage.—Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
