Union minister for Foreign Affairs pays working visit to Cambodia

MoFA Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin meets Mr Prak Sohonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

U Wunna Maung Lwin, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs paid a working visit to Cambodia from 6 December to 7 December 2021 as a Special Envoy of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and at the invitation of Mr Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.
While in Phnom Penh, the Union Minister paid a courtesy call on Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia on the morning of 7 December 2021 and discussed matters related to further consolidation of existing friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and Cambodia as well as prioritized areas of cooperation during Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2022 on the basis of ASEAN way and spirit.
On the same day, the Union minister also held a meeting with Mr Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. At the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further enhancement of the existing friendship and bilateral relations between Myanmar and Cambodia, the possibilities of further strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and closer collaboration at both regional and multilateral arenas. Furthermore, they also discussed matters related to Myanmar-ASEAN cooperation and future collaboration under the ASEAN frameworks on the basis of ASEAN family spirit and ASEAN solidarity. During the meeting, the Union minister also apprised the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia of recent developments and foreign policy of Myanmar and political, economic and social objectives laid down by the State Administration Council.
The Union minister and Myanmar Delegation also attended the luncheon hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia on the afternoon of 7 December 2021.
The Union minister and delegation arrived back in Nay Pyi Taw on the evening of 7 December 2021.— MNA
