MoC oversees daily imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment

The Ministry of Commerce is overseeing the importation of essential medical supplies plus anti-COVID devices that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, through trading posts, international airports and seaports.
Anti-COVID-19 equipment was imported by four companies using eight vehicles. A total of 96 tonnes of masks were imported via the Chinshwehaw trade zone yesterday.
From 1 to 18 December, a total of 245 tonnes of liquid oxygen, which was carried by 159 vehicles, 12,826 empty oxygen tanks, one oxygen plant, 514 oxygen concentrators, 1,957 COVID-19 test kits, 15,280 PPE suits, 26 tonnes of gloves and 908 tonnes of masks were imported.
In the meantime, ten oxygen bowsers to Yangon, two to Mandalay, and one to Monywa were undertaken and one oxygen plant was also transported to Mandalay.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the standard operating procedures, including online registration for the import process.
