MoC oversees daily imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment

The Ministry of Commerce is facilitating imports of essential medical supplies plus anti-COVID devices that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, through trading posts, international airports and seaports.
Anti-COVID-19 equipment was imported by one company using one vehicle. A total of four tonnes of masks were imported via the Chinshwehaw trade zone yesterday.
From 1 to 25 December, a total of 304 tonnes of liquid oxygen carried by 190 vehicles, two empty oxygen tanks, two oxygen distributors, two oxygen distributors, three oxygen plants, 581 oxygen concentrators, 1,957 COVID-19 test kits, 15,280 PPE suits, 32 tonnes of gloves and 1,039 tonnes of masks have been imported.
In the meantime, 13 bowsers transported liquid oxygen to Yangon, two to Mandalay, and one to Monywa, and two oxygen plants were also transported to Mandalay and one to Muse, respectively.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the standard operating procedures, including online registration for the import process.
