The beach of Goyangyi Island, Ngayokekaung township, Pathein District in Ayeyawady Region, was full of visitors to relax on Thingyan Akya Day.
The number of visitors is increasing on the beach during the Thingyan period, and hotels, motels, and guesthouses are overcrowded, according to officials at the hotels and bungalows. On Akya day of Thingyan, shops and restaurants on the beach had good sales earning extra income. Officials ensure that visitors relax peacefully, beach vendors sell their wares properly, and then cruise boats carry no overload of people.—Pyone Maung Maung (Ngayokekaung)/GNLM
