UEC Chairman meets election sub-commissions staff in Rakhine State

UEC Chairman U Thein Soe holds talks with the staff of election sub-commissions in Rakhine State.

Chairman of the Union Election Commission U Thein Soe met staff from the election sub-commissions in Rakhine State yesterday morning.
The meeting was attended by Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, UEC members U Aung Saw Win and Daw Nu Mra Zan, Rakhine State Chief Justice Daw Wah Wah Tun, Rakhine State cabinet members, members of the state/district/township sub-commissions and officials.
At the meeting, UEC Chair U Thein Soe said implementation of the five-point roadmap of the State Administration Council, completion of the census, matters related to accurate voter registration, the situation of holding elections by a PR system, cooperation with the relevant ministries, state/region government bodies in compiling the voter list, party inspections under the law which is a testament to the legitimacy of future elections, planning for the election without making errors, expansion of polling stations in Rakhine State where necessary. As the State Administration Council is taking responsibility for holding the re-election, relevant departments were urged to cooperate with the commission.
Then, U Thurein Htut, Rakhine State election officer, explained the appointment of staff of branch offices of the Election Sub-commission, lands for office buildings and the completion of the census required for voter registration.
Afterwards, the UEC chairman and party visited the land demanded by the Rakhine State government for the construction of the Election Sub-commission staff housing in Sittway. He also inspected the election commission branch office, Sittway District Election Sub-commission branch office and Sittway Township Election Sub-commission office and gave necessary instructions. — MNA
