Myanmar delegation arrives back after attending the open court at the International Court of Justice

Myanmar delegation led by H.E. U Ko Ko Hlaing, Agent of Myanmar and Union Minister for International Cooperation, and H.E. Dr. Thi Da Oo, Alternate Agent of Myanmar and Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General, attended the open court at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, the Netherlands on 22 July 2022.
The Gambia filed the case against Myanmar at the International Court of Justice on 11 November 2019, alleging violation of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
The International Court of Justice delivered its judgement in respect of the preliminary objections raised by Myanmar on 22 July 2022.
It is learned that the Myanmar delegation who attended the aforementioned open court, departed from Amsterdam International Airport at 2050 hrs on 23 July 2022 and safely arrived back at Yangon International Airport at 2107 hrs on 24 July 2022. —MNA
