Award ceremony for SAC Chairman Cup Inter-Ministerial Sepak Takraw (Men) Tourney held

In commemoration of the 2023 Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, the final and third place matches of the SAC Chairman Cup Inter-Ministerial Sepak Takraw (Men) Tourney was held at Wunna Theikdi Stadium B in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday with the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
State Administration Council members Jeng Phang Naw Taung, and U Shwe Kyein, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan, deputy ministers, departmental officials, officials from the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Association, and sports fans enjoyed the matches.
In the third-place match of the tourney, the Ministry of Border Affairs team beat the Ministry of Transport and Communications team 2-0.
In the final match, the Ministry of Home Affairs team secured a 2-0 win over the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs team.
When the award ceremony followed, the team of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which won the fourth prize in the Sepak Takraw (Men) tourney, was presented with an honorarium of K500,000 by Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Brig-Gen Phyo Thant. Union Minister U Min Thein Zan presented the team of the Ministry of Border Affairs who won the third prize with an honorarium of K1 million.
SAC Member U Shwe Kyein presented an honorary prize of K1.5 million to the team of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, which won the second prize.
SAC Member Jeng Phang Naw Taung awarded an individual medal, an honorarium of K2 million and a trophy to the team of the Ministry of Home Affairs, which won the first prize.
The tourney was held from 19 to 28 December at the Wunna Theikdi Stadium B in Nay Pyi Taw, and 27 national teams from various ministries participated in the competition. — MNA/KZL
