Over 3,500 passengers cross Ruili border daily

People are seen lining up for passing through Ruili on the Sino-Myanmar border.

The Chinese Embassy to Myanmar announced that over 3,500 passengers are daily crossing the Ruili border between Myanmar and China.
A total of 3,503 people crossed the Ruili Myanmar-China border on 25 January when it was opened and a total of over 60,000 people have passed through the Ruili border since the re-opening of the crossing.
Travellers must have a Covid-19 negative result tested within 48 hours and valid entry/exit certificates when entering and going out of the border. Red books (border pass) to enter and exit the Muse-Ruili crossing are issued through the booking system to only about 300 residents in Muse District starting on 25 January.
China and Myanmar officials are still discussing the issuance of single-use crossing cards to travellers from other parts of Myanmar, according to the Chinese Embassy.
Trucks and truck drivers are allowed from 8 am to 11:30 pm and government employees from 8 am to 9:30 pm to cross the Muse-Ruili border since 8 January and other travellers, private cars, motorbikes and battery-bikes are allowed to cross the Sinphyu border post from 8 am to 11:30 pm. — TWA/MKKS
