KKO (Split) group and so-called PDF terrorists under NUG and CRPH launch fire on Myawady Trade Zone with heavy weapons and small arms, leaving one departmental staff, one resident dead

The KKO (Split) group and so-called PDF terrorists under NUG and CRPH launched attacks on the Myawady Trade Zone on 25 March, aiming to destroy the peace and tranquility in Myawady Township, Kayin State, to delay the flow of commodities and to scare the residents. The security forces counterattacked in response with restraint and increased the security.
KKO (Split) group and so-called PDF terrorists started launching fires on the Myawady Trade Zone with heavy weapons and small arms from about 200 meters west of the trade zone at about 6:30 am on 25 March. The security forces taking security measures around the area returned fire, and the terrorists retreated and fled to the south. Because of the irrational attack by terrorists, one departmental employee and one local resident were killed, some security personnel were injured, and the trade zone building and an X-ray machine were destroyed by fire.
According to the Geneva Conventions and international laws, the intentional terrorist attack on non-military areas is a war crime, and the security forces will continue to conduct necessary responses. — MNA
