Brazil has expressed its support for Myanmar in founding a diplomatic school. Additionally, there are talks about the possibility of organizing diplomatic exchange trips between the two countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 14 March, U Aung Kyaw Zan, Myanmar’s ambassador to Brazil, and Ms Mariana Moscardo, interim head of the Rio Branco Institute, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met at the institute to talk about bilateral diplomatic cooperation.
They discussed identifying areas of collaboration between the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies and the Rio Branco Institute, diplomatic exchange trips. Brazil expressed its support for curriculum development, governance, teaching methodologies, and research for the proposed diplomatic school in Myanmar.
Established in 1945, the Rio Branco Institute has a distinguished history of training Brazilian diplomats who subsequently serve in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in fostering the development of young diplomatic officials in the fields of international relations and foreign diplomacy.
Over the years, the institute has produced numerous Brazilian diplomats as well as foreign diplomats, solidifying its reputation as a cornerstone of diplomatic education and training. -ASH/NT
