ME in Malaysia shifts application process to QR code booking for C of I issuance

Submission of applications will be changed to the QR code booking system as of 18 March to facilitate the certificate of Identity (C of I) issuing process, the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia announced on 12 March.
According to the statement, the Myanmar Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has been providing services for the extension of ordinary Myanmar passports, applications for the replacement of lost passports, and issuing new passports through an online reservation system. In order to facilitate the necessary verification process and to help office procedures efficient for issuing C of I within a day free of charge for Myanmar nationals, it will work with the QR code appointment system as of 18 March at www.mekl.org.
Applicants for C of I are required to fill data correctly at www.mekl.org and select “application of Certificate of Identity” in types of services, it said. The embassy will re-send the appointment date to the applicant’s email, it added. — MT/ZS/ED
