Contributions to Cyclone Mocha-affected regions: Extending a helping hand

Cash donations and presentation of the certificate of honour in progress yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) based in Tokyo, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar abroad, Myanmar embassies and foreign companies made cash donations for the regions affected by Cyclone Mocha at the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
First, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained the purpose of the donation and then the Union minister of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement gave a word of thanks.
Afterwards, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented the donations to the Union minister of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, who returned the certificate of honour.
The Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) donated K931,500 (621,000 Japanese yen), and the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar embassies abroad, the offices of Myanmar permanent representatives, Myanmar consulates-general, Myanmar citizens abroad, companies and organizations K600,000 as well as K83,514,000 (equivalent to five different foreign currencies). — MNA/KZW
