Daily imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products continue

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, by arranging continuous importation through trading posts, international airport and seaports with standard operating procedures.
On 23 September (Yesterday), anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products including oxygen plants and concentrators were imported by five companies and transported by 10 vehicles.
A total of 20 tonnes of oxygen (liquid) carried by one bowser, 3,460 empty oxygen cylinders, one oxygen plant, 105 oxygen concentrators for home use, and 43 tonnes of masks were imported via Muse, Myawady, and Chinshwehaw trading posts, seaports and Yangon International Airport.
One oxygen bowser was transported to Bago and one oxygen plant imported via Muse was transported to Haka.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for better importation.
It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm. — MNA
