Departmental officials, miners and geologists meet at MEITI workshop

Mandalay, 1 Oct—The workshop on Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative – MEITI took place at the hall of Hotel Mandalay at the corner of 78th and 38th streets in Mahaaungmye Township of Mandalay on Tuesday.

Myint made an opening address.
The deputy leader of the Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative explained arrangements of Myanmar for membership at the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative held in Mexico and facts about EITI and its standards.
The mining and geologists discussed financial transparency in mining works in Mandalay Region and the ways to overcome challenges.
It was attended by Mandalay Region Hluttaw representatives, officials of Ministry of Mines, General Administration Department and Myanmar Correctional Department, gold miners in Mandalay Region, miners and geologists. Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
