Drugs worth over K1 billion seized in Kyaukse, Mahaaungmyay townships

Over K1 Billion worth of narcotic drugs were seized in Kyaukse and Mahaaungmyay townships, Mandalay Region on 29 December, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
According to the report, Kyaw Zin Lin, a driver of an AD Van, was found with 22 kilogrammes of heroin worth K550 million near Yeywa Village in Kyaukse Township at 9:30 pm on 29 December.
According to the investigation, the heroin was trafficked from PyinOoLwin Township to Pyigyidagun Township.
Similarly, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force inspected a Foton 6-wheeler vehicle driven by Nay Myo Aung and a motor cycle driven by Min Min Oo on the 21st Street between 86th and 87th Streets, Aungmyethazan Township, Mandalay Region, at 10:30 am on 31 December.
A total of 19.69 kilogrammes of heroin worth over K490 million were found in the vehicle and 8.5 kilos of opium was also confiscated.
According to the investigation, the drugs were trafficked from Shan State (North) to Sagaing Region.
They are being prosecuted and the perpetrators are still being investigated, according to the Police Force.—MNA
