Export earnings up by $1.93 bln this year

Myanmar’s export earnings from 1 April to 26 January in the current fiscal year (FY) reached US$11.4 billion, registering an increase of $1.93 billion, compared with the same period last FY, according to the Commerce Ministry.
The government sector’s exports were worth $3.72 billion, whereas the estimated value of private sector exports was $7.7 billion.
The forestry sector experienced a slight decline in exports, while the other sectors increased their value of trade. The export of finished industrial goods brought in $5.14 billion, followed by agriculture exports that were worth $2.45 billion. Mineral exports fetched $1.2 billion, while fisheries exports hit $553 million. The export value of livestock was some $31 million. Other products worth $1.85 billion were also traded.
Myanmar exports its goods via sea and border trade gates. Exports through the sea route fetched some $7.16 billion, while $4.26 billion worth of exports flowed into neighbouring countries via the border trade gates.
