Flights cancelled due to flooding at Mazin airport, Ngapali

Continuous torrential rain has brought flooding to Mazin airport in Ngapali, in Rakhine State since yesterday.
The floodwaters inundated drains along the airport road, flooding the airport building and runway. The flight schedules were temporarily cancelled as the water level at the parking lot was up to 17 inches, said U Mahn Zaw, in-charge of the airport.
According to the Meteorology and Hydrology Department of Thandwe, the rainfall was 3.75 inches on June 16 at 9 am.
Though there have been tree falls and flooding in some wards in Ngapali, no animal or person was harmed. — Yan Nyein(IPRD)/GNLM
