Government of the People’s Republic of China donates funds to Myanmar’s peace processes

The Government of the People’s Republic of China held a donation ceremony yesterday morning at the National Unity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw to support the implementation of the peace process in Myanmar.
Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai and delegation, Chairman of the National Unity and Peace Restoration Coordination Committee, Chairman of the Joint Monitoring Committee on the Union-level Ceasefire (JMC-U), Union Minister at the Union Government Office (1) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and members, Union-level Joint Monitoring Committee on Ceasefire (JMC-U) Vice-Chairman (2) U Pyae Sone and officials attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Ambassador Mr Chen Hai talked about the reason for donating money for the Myanmar peace process.
Next, US$300,000 was donated to the National Unity and Peacemaking Committee and US$200,000 to the Joint Monitoring Committee on Ceasefire (JMC).
Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae received the donation and the Union Minister and JMC-U Vice-Chairman (2) U Pyae Sone returned the certificate of honour and commemorative gifts to the ambassador.
The Union Minister then thanked them for the donation.
Then, the Union Minister and the ambassador had a cordial discussion on the progress of the peace process in Myanmar. —MNA
