Hotels and tourism Union Minister checks CIQ and Bagan Information Centre

A delegation led by Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Ohn Maung visited Bagan Information Centre handed over from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to Hotels and Tourism Ministry last Saturday.
This centre is situated west of Shwe Nandaw, Taungbi village tract, Bagan-NyaungU Township and was set up with an aim to enhance tourism in Bagan area.
Union Minister told officials from branch office to maintain this building, give tourism information to tourists and local travellers, exhibit Bagan’s cultural goods, conduct courses, awareness campaigns and meeting for tourism under the guidance of the ministry which will lead to regional development, maintain heritage sites.
On 17 September, the delegation arrived Bagan-NyaungU airport and inspected Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) counters and places where other facilities are provided,
installation of equipments for baggage claims and hotels and tourism department requirements of skilled staff and other needs.
Afterwards, the Union Minister received suggestion from officials from related departments and explained efforts to fly direct between Cambodia’s Siem Reap and Nyaung U airport and discussed about Pre-Arranged Visa on Arrival for Package Tour Only.
