Kyaukse Forest Dept sows 50,000 seeds of variety plants

Forest Department in Kyaukse township sowed 50,000 seeds of various plants to distribute free of charge, it is learnt.
The seeds are being sowed for cultivation by the departments, religious associations and the people from villages and wards in Kyaukse township, Mandalay Region.
‘‘Regarding the distribution of the plants free of charge, our department sowed 50,000 seeds of various plants, including 3,000 tectona trees, 1,000 wild almond trees, 14,000 neem trees, 3,000 Bombay-ebony trees, 6,000 kinds of ornamental shade trees, 4,000 gold mohur trees, 1,000 starflower trees, 3,000 golden shower trees, 1,500 Terminalia Billerica trees, 3,000 rhu or casuarina trees and two other species of 10,500 plants”.
These trees are aimed to be grown in religious areas, departmental compounds and public area to ensure the greenery and fair climate in the region, an official from the Township Forest Department said.
In addition to sowing seedlings for public distribution free of charge, the Township Forest Department is planting 96,160 eucalyptus trees and 116,160 senegalia catechu trees for firewood plantations on 80-acre plots of land in Myauk Radan creek forest reserve.
