MoC allows Smooth and fast importation of COVID-19 protective equipment

The Ministry of Commerce has permitted the import of COVID-19 protective equipment and liquid oxygen, which do not require an import licence or to apply for the licence, officials said.
With a recommendation of the Food and Drug Administration, the import of oxygen concentrators is also allowed to be imported easily and quickly with a 5% commercial tax exemption.
From 12 to 16 July, 30.869 million litres of liquid oxygen and oxygen gas, 1,100 oxygen cylinders, 1,148 oxygen cylinders, 1,715 oxygen concentrators, five oxygen generators, one generator with cylinder filling; two cylinder-filling systems and 84.861 tons of face masks were imported.
For easy and fast import of COVID-19 preventive and medical supplies through the Chinese border, the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade is coordinating with the Office of Commerce and Industry of the People’s Republic of China.
Those who want to conduct import processes can do their businesses more smoothly by connecting with the Department of Foreign Trade for the types of goods they want to import and the vehicles to be transported, officials added.
For the quick and easy import of COVID-19 protective equipment, the Ministry of Economy and Trade will continue to carry out regular import and export activities at border trade checkpoints during the public holidays from 17 to 25 July 2021 that are designated as public holidays. —MNA
