He said the establishment of CBT has provided employment opportunities for local people and contributed significantly to regional development. The Ministry will invite some local people from the villages to be implemented the CBT to visit the thriving CBT villages and will support the necessary training for tourism services.
Mae Pauk village is located about 24 miles from Pyinmana Township at an altitude of over 2,000 feet above sea level. The locals are engaged in farming based on agriculture and it is a suitable area for community-based tourism because of its traditional ways of life and mountain scenery.
CBT is a booming tourism industry in Southeast Asia, and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is launching new CBT tours in the states and regions as ethnic lifestyles and scenery are particularly suitable for CBT.—MNA (Translated by Ei Phyu Phyu Aung)
