MoHT Union Minister receives delegation from Chamber of Commerce of Dehong Prefecture

The MoHT Union Minister holds talks with the delegation from the Chamber of Commerce of Dehong Prefecture yesterday.

Union Minister Dr Htay Aung of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism met Director of Myanmar Representative Office-Nay Pyi Taw Mr Li Qigui of the Chamber of Commerce of Dehong Prefecture in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
In the meeting, the Union minister discussed resuming the existing tourism businesses between Dehong Prefecture of Yunnan Province in China and Myanmar and collaborative efforts in the hotels and tourism industry.
Both sides discussed the implementation of the China-Myanmar friendship fairs, the cooperation in human resources training, resumption of charter flights from Mangshi in Yunnan Province to Mandalay and Yangon, the development of the hotels and tourism industry, promotion of the tourism sector between China and Myanmar and opening the language courses.
As the China tourism market is a driving force in the world’s outbound tourism market, efforts are being made to increase the number of tourists entering Myanmar.
In 2019, about 155 million Chinese tourists visited around the world and more than 1.4 million Chinese tourists entered Myanmar.—MNA
