Monsoon paddy seeds provided free of charge in Hlegu tsp

About 15,000 baskets of monsoon paddy seeds were provided in Hlegu township, Yangon North District under Yangon regional government’s Rainbow project, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
To boost the yield of monsoon paddy in Hlegu township, about 15,000 baskets of monsoon paddy seeds were distributed to 6,484 farmers from 53 village-tracts in Hlegu township. A total of 529 bags of Hsinthuka monsoon paddy seeds were provided free of charge to 344 local farmers from Hlegu township, according to the Township Agriculture Department. To prevent the declining yield of paddy because of the outbreak of coronavirus, monsoon paddy seeds were distributed to the local farmers from Hlegu township. At present, the department is collecting data to have the correct acreage of paddy farmland, to provide sufficient water supply in paddy growing season, to ensure the good quality seeds of monsoon paddy and to apply proper paddy growing technology. —Thae Cho (Translated by Hay Mar)
