A 6th meeting of senior officials from the Myanmar-Bangladesh border forces was held at Royal Ace Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The meeting was attended by Chief of the Myanmar Police Force Police General Staff Police Brig-Gen Myo Than, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Union Government Office, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Border Guards Bangladesh Director General Maj-Gen Md. Shafeenul Islam, ndc, psc and high ranking officials.
At the meeting cooperation in border area security and rule of law works covering illegal drug trade, terrorism, effective prevention of illegal border crossing, exchange of citizens who had served their prison terms, conducting regular flag meetings at battalion commander level and camp level, holding a first meeting between border liaison offices of the two countries, timely exchange of news and information related to security of the border region and rule of law, continuing coordinated patrols along the border line of the two countries, implementing trust building works to increase cooperation between the border forces of the two countries were discussed. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
