Myanmar, Bangladesh sign joint communiqué, issue joint press release after border meet

A ceremony to sign a joint communiqué and issue a joint press release on 6th BGP (MPF)-BGB Senior Level Border Conference was held at Royal Ace Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
The event was attended by Myanmar Police Force Police General Staff Police Brig-Gen Myo Than and Police Force personnel, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Union Government Office, Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population from Myanmar side and Border Guards Bangladesh Director General Maj-Gen Md. Shafeenul Islam, ndc, psc and officials from Bangladesh side.
The joint communiqué on border area security and rule of law works covering illegal drug trade, terrorism, prevention of illegal border crossing, exchange of citizens who had served their prison terms, conducting regular flag meets at battalion commander level and camp level, holding a first meeting of Maungtaw-Teknaf border liaison offices, timely exchange of news and information related to security of the border region and rule of law, continuing coordinated patrols along the border line of the two countries, implementing trust building works to increase cooperation between the border forces of the two countries was signed and a joint press release issued. 7th meeting of senior officials from the Myanmar-Bangladesh border forces will be held at Dhaka, Bangladesh in October 2019. —MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
