Myanmar celebrates 2021 International Anti-Corruption Day

International Anti-Corruption Day 2021 event is underway in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The Anti-Corruption Commission held the celebration of the 2021 International Anti-Corruption Day yesterday morning in Nay Pyi Taw, and Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing sent a video message to address the ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman U Tin Oo of the Anti-Corruption Commission, the secretary, members and officials. Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo, Union ministers, Union auditor-general, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, state/region chief ministers, the chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission and the governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, deputy ministers and departmental officials attended the ceremony virtually.
At the ceremony, the video message of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing was displayed. (The full text of the speech is reported on page 4).
Union Chief Justice U Htun Htun Oo said that trust in the judiciary will be enhanced by establishing a fair judiciary that is impartial, honest and free from corruption and increasing access to court services and justice and accountability. Therefore, judges in the judiciary sector must abide by their ethics and perform their judicial duties without corruption, he continued.
He called on those related to the judiciary, such as litigation bodies, law officers, lawyers, the media, and the public, including the defendants, to work together to uphold their ethics and work together in a non-corrupt manner to ensure a fair judiciary and an effective rule of law.
At the ceremony, the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission explained the implementation of anti-corruption measures.
The ceremony was concluded after displaying a video clip commemorating the International Anti-Corruption Day 2021. — MNA
