Public Health Conference 2023 held

The first day of the Myanmar Public Health Conference 2023 was launched yesterday afternoon at the Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win attended the panel discussion and gave a welcome speech.
The Union minister said that this seminar was held for the first time in Myanmar, and the Ministry of Health has prepared 12 working committees to prepare for the conference.
The Union minister said that local public health experts plus 24 public health professionals from countries such as China, Russia, India, Maldives and France will share their experiences.
Representatives discussed titles named Saving Lives of Mothers and Children: Synergistic Approaches for Sustaining Achievements and Accelerating Progress to RMNCAH-related SDGs and Go Beyond SDGs in Section One and Take Actions: All Hands for NCD Prevention and Control SDGs in Section 2.
They also shared good practices on health sector preparedness, response and recovery to disasters, maintaining essential Public Health Services, Digital Transformation in health information and health care, Empowering Public Health Education, Essential for addressing 21st-century community challenges through academic institutions, Achieving the SDG 3.3: Bringing innovations to infectious diseases control and elimination, Road map on Maintaining Polio-free status and achieving Measles and Rubella elimination respectively.
On the first day of the conference, 11 public health experts from foreign countries and 26 local experts presented 37 papers.
A total of 27 academic paper posters were submitted in 40 galleries, showing public health educational activities from the Ministry of Health and various related departments. About 1,800 public health experts from home and abroad attended and exchanged knowledge. — MNA/KZL
