Rakhine State govt distributes household supplies to locals

Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, state ministers and officials distributed 5 types of household supplies to people with no regular income in Sittway during the long Thingyan holidays.
The supplies include rice, cooking oil, salt, lentils and onions and the distribution aims to support people amid the spread of COVID-19.
The Chief Minister first met with the people in the religious building of Sittway’s north ward and told them to stay at their homes to mitigate the chances of spreading coronavirus. He urged them to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Sports and said these supplies will support their time staying indoors.
The Chief Minister and entourage then went to distribute the supplies in Tayartisu Ward, Kyay Pin Gyi Ward and Ye Nwe Su Ward. Similar distributions of supplies were also made across townships, wards and villages of Rakhine State.with 8 pyis of rice, 50 tical of cooking oil, 50 tical of salt, a tical of lentils and a viss of onions per household.
Afterwards, the Chief Ministers inspected the civil servant residential building in Magyeemyaing Ward where people who returned from abroad were being quarantined.
