Saw David court case moved to 3 June

Saw David (a) Saw David Lah made his first court appearance at Mayangon Township court yesterday as he faces a lawsuit for violating government orders preventing mass gatherings in order to mitigate spreading the COVID-19 disease.
Mayangon Township Administrator for Ward 7, U Ye Win Aung, filed the lawsuit against Saw David under Article 25 of the Natural Disaster Management Law.
In addition, the Yangon Region COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee has filed lawsuits against him and U Wai Tun in Mayangon police station and against U Saw Kwae Wah and U Saw Reagan Di in Insein police station on 14 April in accordance with the Natural Disaster Management Law.
Mayangon Township Judge U Moe Swe made investigations at the court yesterday and moved the trial to 3 June (Wednesday). Saw David was transferred to Insein Prison and will be held for 15 days.—Myo Min Thein (Mayangon) (Translated by Zaw Htet Oo)
