A total of 317 pearl lots have been sold for K1427.26 million, while 1,955 jade lots for K31595.79million and 52 jewellery for K525.8million.
On the 10th day of Emporium, out of 348 jade lots from No. 1801 to 2148, 347 lots were sold for K 7,311,076,044.
“We organize this Emporium to provide proper financial circulation for gem traders and meet the needs of crude jades in the gem finished-products sector. It aimed to create job opportunities for the workers in the industry.
The show was held following COVID-19 health rules and social distancing methods. Although there were a few people at the Emporium, the transaction was better than the former emporiums.
It is such a successful show,” said a senior officer of Myanma Gems Enterprise.
The show was held from 1 to 10 April, and all 317 pearl lots were sold out while 1955jade lots out of 2,148 lots and 52jewellery out of 199 were sold out.
“It is less crowded compared to previous emporiums as it is held under COVID-19 health rules.
But it was such a successful show due to the good transactions of pearls, gems and jade.
The export quality gems were also displayed at the show. The officials also arranged for the convenience of dealers.
I think I can make profits on the gems I bought,” said a gem trader. —Naing Linn/GNLM
