Traffickers sentenced to jail for human trafficking

The Insein District Court sentenced the traffickers to ten years imprisonment each with labour for their role in trafficking a girl to a Chinese man on 31 March.
The victim Ma… from Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region, was sold to a Chinese man by Ma Kyi Than, Aung Kyaw and Thae Su Wai from Insein Township, Ma Cho (aka) Cho Cho Win from Hlinethaya Township and Ma Sabae (aka) Moe Moe Han from Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region. They persuaded the victim by saying that she would earn K2 million if she worked in a noodle shop in Lashio for three months.
The traffickers were prosecuted at Insein Myoma police station under Section 24/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law.
The two traffickers, Ma Kyi Than and Ma Cho (aka) Cho Cho, were sentenced to jail for ten years imprisonment each with labour under Section 24 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law and three traffickers, Aung Kyaw Kyaw, Ma Sabae (aka) Moe Moe Han and Ma Thae Su Wai, were sentenced to ten years imprisonment each with labour under Section 24/32 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law. — MNA/MKKS
