Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye attends ceremony to provide aid to persons with disabilities and matriarchies

Dr. Win Myat Aye, the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, attended a ceremony in support of persons with disabilities and matriarchies held yesterday in the meeting hall of the Administration Department in Thayawady Township, Bago Region.
During the ceremony, cash was presented to persons with disabilities by the Union Minister and local authorities.
A total sum of Ks12,550,000 for 251 persons with disabilities, Ks26,325,000 for 1,755 matriarchies, Ks45,800,000 for 916 persons with disabilities and Ks40,715,000 for 2,781 matriarchies were presented.
On behalf of the people, Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Aung Myint gave words of thanks to the Union Minister.
The Union Minister and party then inspected the building which is being built for flood victims during the rainy season. On completion of this building, it can accommodate up to 660 people from Tat Swear, Htan Pin Gone, Nga Kyee and Htan Pin Lay Ywar villages. When not in use during the rainy season, this building can be used as a library, youth centre and healthcare centre.
Afterwards, the Union Minister attended a ceremony held in the meeting hall of the Administration Department in Moe Nyo Township and presented Ks92,450,000 for 1,849 persons with disabilities and Ks89,805,000 for 5,987 matriarchies.
At the ceremony, a total amount of Ks308,645,000 was received as donations. Members of Parliament, departmental heads and local people attended the ceremony, at which Dr. Win Myat Aye spoke words of thanks on behalf of the donors.
