Union Minister U Shwe Lay inspects transport, housing development programmes of Mandalay Region

Union Minister for Construction U Shwe Lay inspected the urban and housing development programmes and transportation sector of Mandalay Region together with the region Administration Council chairman U Maung Ko yesterday.
The Union minister and party firstly visited the Mingala Yan Kin public rental housing project implemented by the Urban and Housing Development department in Shin Taw Gone village-tract of Patheingyi Township.
The officials of the construction site briefed the project and the Union Minister instructed to accelerate the work in constructing the public rental housing with 5,008 units as the first phase. He also said the project is mainly aimed at low-income families. Then, the officials inspected the check structure for bridge and water access and other land areas to pave.
The Mingala Yan Kin public rental housing project is implemented in No 506-open field in Shin Taw Gone Village-tract in Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region. The project will be 5-storey 188 buildings with four units on each floor and there will be 3,008 apartments. As the first phase, 91 buildings with 1,456 units will be constructed.
Then, the Union minister and party inspected the new road construction in Patheingyi Township.
The officials also went to the construction site of the 3-storey region Hluttaw building and instructed the necessary things.
They then inspected the Sheet Pile installation processes along the strand road to prevent the erosion of the banks of the Ayeyawady River. – MNA
